  • In 1492 Columbus arrived in the Americas with the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. This was made possible by the many skillful sailors that were aboard these ships. However, those sailors cannot take all of the credit. Much design and effort were put into the building of those ships by engineers and laborers alike. No matter the effort, with all of the new technology we have, one can't help but wonder— could Columbus have gotten to America faster if his sails were designed differently? Join us for this session where we will discuss an example of a STEAM lesson plan you can use in your classroom to have your students explore this question and much more on Columbus Day!
